Navigating parking around Manchester’s Etihad Campus on a busy show night requires planning. With strict local resident parking zones and high demand at the 23,500-capacity arena, driving up without a pre-booked space often causes traffic delays or penalty charges.

Whether you prefer parking right outside the doors, securing a cheaper off-site space, or using Greater Manchester's free Park & Ride system, here is every parking option for Co-op Live.

Option 1: Official Vertu Motors Car Park (On-Site)

Official venue parking is located directly on the Etihad Campus in the Blue or Orange car parks.

Key Rules & Pricing

• Standard Parking (£25): Standard spaces across the campus.

• Express Parking (£35): Guarantees a space within a 1–2 minute walk of the main entrance and priority exit positioning.

• Accessible / Blue Badge Parking: Dedicated wider spaces located as close to the arena entrance as possible. Must be reserved in advance via the venue's accessibility portal.

Critical Booking Details

1. Pre-Booking is Mandatory: Official parking must be booked online in advance. On-the-day drive-up payments are not accepted—especially when events run simultaneously at the Etihad Stadium.

2. Release Window: Spaces are typically released up to 4 weeks prior to the event date.

3. Operating Hours: Opens 4 hours before General Admission doors and closes 2 hours after the show finishes. Overnight parking is strictly prohibited.

It doesn’t take long to book a space at the Official Venue car park however you need to enter a few details and confirm your email, so it’s best to do this in advance or before you set off. If you’re travelling with a friend they could book the space via their phone.

Option 2: Cheaper Council & Off-Site Car Parks

If official campus parking sells out or exceeds your budget, nearby council-run and secure private lots offer substantial savings. And to be honest it’s only a short walk to the arena, you might aswell take in some of that Manchester culture.

Green Car Park (Hillkirk Street, Beswick)

• Cost: £15 per space.

• Address: Hillkirk Street, Beswick, M11 3FY.

• Distance: ~10-minute walk to the arena.

• Details: Run by Manchester City Council with on-site stewards taking card payments. Pre-booking via the council directory is recommended as capacity is limited.

Pre-Bookable Apps (YourParkingSpace / JustPark)

Private spaces at local businesses along Alan Turing Way, Asda Newton Heath, and nearby industrial parks can be reserved in advance using parking apps. Rates typically range from £10 to £18, offering a 5- to 15-minute walk to the arena gates.

Option 3: Free Metrolink Park & Ride (Best for Avoiding Traffic)

To skip post-show gridlock along Alan Turing Way and Hyde Road entirely, use Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) Bee Network Park & Ride sites.

You can park your car for free and take the Metrolink tram straight to the Etihad Campus stop, which sits directly outside the Co-op Live entrance.

Recommended Park & Ride Sites (Ashton Line)

• Ashton Moss (183 spaces): Located just off Junction 23 of the M60.

• Ashton West (184 spaces): Located near the Ashton leisure park.

• Ladywell (332 spaces): Located along the Ashton-Eccles line.

Tram Journey: Trams run every 6 minutes during peak hours and take roughly 10–12 minutes from Ashton to the Etihad Campus stop. Trams run until 01:00 on Friday and Saturday nights.

Option 4: City Centre Parking + CityLink Walk

If you plan to visit Manchester’s Northern Quarter or Ancoats for pre-gig drinks, park in the city centre (e.g., Q-Park Piccadilly Place or Charles Street).

From the city centre, you have two options to reach the arena:

1. The CityLink Walking Route: A well-lit, stewarded, step-free pedestrian pathway running directly from Manchester Piccadilly Station to Co-op Live (approx. 25-minute walk).

2. Tram: Hop on the Ashton-bound Metrolink tram from Piccadilly Station or St Peter's Square directly to the Etihad Campus stop (approx. 8 minutes).

Post-Show Pick-Up Point & Taxis

If you are being collected by a friend, family member, or Uber/taxi after the gig:

• Official Pick-Up Point: Located adjacent to the venue (Postcode: M11 3ER). Opens at 22:00 on event nights and provides a designated waiting area to prevent traffic build-up on main roads.

• Drop-Off Point: Drivers can drop off passengers along designated lanes on Alan Turing Way before doors open.

WARNING: Local Resident Parking Schemes

Do not attempt to park on residential streets in Beswick, Clayton, or Miles Platting.

A strict Eastlands Residents Parking Scheme operates across all surrounding neighborhoods during event days at both Co-op Live and the Etihad Stadium. Traffic wardens heavily patrol these areas, and unpermitted vehicles will receive an immediate £70 Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or face towing.
