Jarvis Cocker Gives Huge Update on Pulp’s Future

Jarvis Cocker has given Pulp fans fresh hope that another album could be on the way, insisting he isn't ready to call time on the band just yet.

Pulp recently brought their latest run of live shows to an end, but it appears their remarkable comeback might have another chapter left in it.

Speaking ahead of the release of new documentary Pulp: What Do You Do for an Encore?, Cocker confirmed that the band will take a break before he turns his attention towards writing again.

“I’ll try and write some songs,” Cocker told Rolling Stone UK, adding that if those songs are good enough, Pulp could “try and do something else”.

And another album certainly isn't off the table.

Cocker said he hopes Pulp could make another record, provided the band are still enjoying themselves and creating music they believe is worth putting out.

It follows 2025's More, Pulp's first studio album in an astonishing 24 years. The record reached number one in the UK and accompanied a hugely successful return to live music.

Cocker has also recently made it clear that he doesn't believe Pulp are finished, despite there currently being no further tour dates announced. He suggested another record could ultimately be what brings the band back onto the road.

For now, Pulp are having a well-earned rest.

But after waiting 24 years for More, the possibility that we might not have to wait quite so long for the next one sounds pretty good to us.
