Noel Gallagher has admitted he still hasn’t watched the finished version of the upcoming Oasis documentary, despite the film now having an official release date.
The documentary, which follows Oasis’ huge Live ‘25 reunion tour, is set to premiere on Disney+ on September 11.
Speaking to BBC 5 Live, Noel said neither he nor Liam have seen the final cut yet, as the team behind the film are still making changes.
“I still haven’t seen it, me and our kid still haven’t seen it. They are still tweaking it, I think they want to get it to a point before they show me and Liam,” he said.
Although he hasn’t watched it himself, Noel says people who have seen early versions have described it as an emotional watch, especially because of how much of the film focuses on the fans and what the reunion meant to them.
He added:
“Obviously, people have seen it and say it’s quite an emotional journey because a lot of it is to do with fans and stuff.”
Noel also admitted the documentary might help him piece the whole thing together, saying the tour was such a whirlwind that he can’t remember a lot of it properly. Very rock and roll, or just ageing with better guitars. Either works.
He also confirmed he’s currently mixing the sound for the film at his studio, so while he hasn’t seen it yet, he’s still very much involved in shaping how it lands.
The film arrives on September 11, and Noel seems just as curious as everyone else to finally see what the madness looked like from the outside.
His verdict for now?
“Hopefully it’ll be a hit.”
