Noel and Liam Gallagher Make First Off-Stage Public Appearance Together at Venice Film Festival

Noel and Liam Gallagher appeared together in public for the first time off-stage since Oasis reunited, attending the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of the new documentary Don’t Look Back In Anger.
The film focuses on the brothers’ 2024 reunion and their major ‘Live ‘25’ tour dates. It was produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace. The documentary premiered yesterday (September 5) at the Venice Film Festival in the ‘Out of Competition – Non Fiction’ category.
Other than their performances during Oasis’ ‘Live ’25’ tour, the brothers have rarely been seen together in public since the band split in 2009. That’s why their arrival at the premiere together by boat yesterday was such a big moment.

The documentary got an eight-minute standing ovation. Liam and Noel enjoyed the applause, holding hands and raising them in celebration. At one point, Noel seemed to wipe away tears, while Liam later checked his watch and mouthed, “Should we fuck off?” before Knight apparently persuaded him to stay.
The brothers showed up for the premiere and the photocall, but left before the press conference. Instead, Knight, Southern, and Lovelace attended the press event.
When asked at the press conference why the Gallaghers were missing, Lovelace replied, “They were here a second ago having their photograph taken, so they are here,” but didn’t say more. According to Variety, the brothers were never supposed to attend the conference, though journalists and fans didn’t seem to know this.
