Pink Floyd Release 8-Tracks: A New Collection of Classic Songs

Sony Music has released 8-Tracks, a new compilation album from rock legends Pink Floyd. The album includes eight classic songs from the band's most creative and successful years, 1971 to 1979. Fans can now find the album on vinyl, CD, and all major streaming platforms.

The album includes well-known songs like "Money," "Wish You Were Here," "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2," "Time," and "Comfortably Numb." It also features earlier tracks such as "One Of These Days" and "Wot’s… Uh The Deal." Collectors will appreciate the full version of "Pigs On The Wing," which was previously only on the rare 1977 Animals 8-track. Steven Wilson, a respected musician and producer, arranged the track order and used original sound effects to create a smooth, uninterrupted listening experience in the classic Pink Floyd style.

8-Tracks highlights Pink Floyd’s rise to worldwide fame during the 1970s. The songs come from six major studio albums: Meddle (1971), Obscured by Clouds (1972), The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979). Together, these tracks show how the band moved from their early psychedelic style to become one of rock’s most legendary groups.

The 50th-anniversary reissue of Wish You Were Here reached the global Top 10, and the film Pink Floyd at Pompeii - MCMLXXII was a box office success, with its soundtrack hitting number one. The new compilation is a good starting point for new listeners and a special addition for longtime fans.
