Pulp Announce One-Day-Only Cinema Event

Pulp fans will need to clear their diaries.

The Sheffield legends have confirmed that their new documentary, What Do You Do For An Encore?, will receive a one-night-only cinema release across the UK and Ireland on 18 September before arriving on streaming later this year.

The announcement comes alongside the first official trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what promises to be one of the most compelling music films of the year.

Alongside footage from Pulp's recent arena tour in support of More, the band's acclaimed comeback album, the documentary also features decades of previously unseen archive material charting their journey from Sheffield outsiders to Britpop icons.

The film is said to blend more than 20 songs from across Pulp's career with behind-the-scenes moments and reflections on the band's remarkable story.

Limiting the cinema release to a single evening is likely to make tickets highly sought after. Following the theatrical screening, What Do You Do For An Encore? will be available to stream on MUBI, although a streaming release date has yet to be confirmed.

For fans who have followed Pulp from the early days through Different Class, the long hiatus and their celebrated return, this looks set to be much more than a nostalgia trip.
