Sam Fender is reportedly set to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival when it returns to Worthy Farm in June 2027. While official line-up announcements will not be confirmed by festival organisers until spring, sources cited by The Mail on Sunday claim the 32-year-old rocker has landed one of the coveted main stage slots.
A source told The Mail on Sunday that Fender has been thrilled by the news:
“Sam is over the moon, it's a major milestone in his career and he's so excited he's even been telling his neighbours.”
The report also highlights support from Fender’s close friend, Lewis Capaldi, who has reportedly been backing him for the slot:
“Lewis has been gunning for Sam to get the headline slot. He's been bringing Sam on stage at his gigs just to get him more out there and more talked-about.”
Fender previously performed on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in 2022, three years after having to pull out of the 2019 event due to illness. The five-time BRIT Award winner also took home the Mercury Prize in 2025 for his third studio album, People Watching.
Glastonbury 2027 Updates & Line-Up Rumours
Glastonbury 2027 is scheduled to run from June 23 to June 27 at Worthy Farm, Pilton, following the festival's 2026 fallow year. Tickets for the event sold out in 42 minutes when they went on sale on October 4.
Addressing fans after the sale, festival organisers posted:
“Thank you to everyone who bought one and we're sorry to those of you who missed out on a morning where demand greatly exceeded supply. There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in Spring 2027.”
Festival organiser Emily Eavis confirmed in August on BBC Radio 4's PM programme that all three 2027 headliners were already locked in, while explicitly shutting down speculation regarding Madonna:
“No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that. But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well. Pretty much 95 per cent of the stories [about Glastonbury] you read are not true, and rumours are pretty much always wrong. But the good news is that we’ve got our headliners and we’re cracking on, and we just can’t wait to get back.”
Eavis also confirmed that Oasis will not be headlining Worthy Farm during their 2027 tour. When asked by a fan on social media if the Gallagher brothers would be appearing, Eavis replied:
“Sorry Jimmy, not this time.”
In addition to Fender, The Sun's Bizarre column reported last month that Lily Allen has been invited to perform at next year's event following the release of her 2025 album West End Girl. A source told the paper:
“Emily loves Lily and sees her as one of Britain’s musical greats. Earlier this summer she officially asked Lily if she would play at Glastonbury next year. As long as her schedule allows it, I’m sure she will accept. Lily has a long history with Glasto, and to return to the festival after all this time would really be a sign she’s back to her best.”
