Johnny Marr is to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Sky Arts Awards 2026 tonight, celebrating decades of influential songwriting and lasting impact on British music. The ceremony will be live from the Roundhouse in London at 9pm (13th October) on Sky Arts, Freeview and NOW. Marr will perform live, joined by a diverse lineup of guest artists.

This award comes at a very busy and successful time in Marr's career. He's of course famous as a co-founder of The Smiths in terms of his influence on modern indie rock, but has also had a very solid solo career with six UK Top 10 albums to his name (including his most recent, The Age Of Everything). He headlined his biggest solo show to date earlier this year at the Castlefield Bowl in Manchester. He's also very much a collaborator and has worked with a wide range of artists over the years including Hans Zimmer, Billie Eilish and Noel Gallagher.

The Roundhouse ceremony will also have a number of special performances. Sir Grayson Perry and Rebecca Lucy Taylor (Self Esteem) will open the night with a performance. Taylor will be back later to close the show. The set list also includes breakout singer songwriter Victor Ray with English National Ballet dancer Jakob Wheway Hughes and award winning saxophonist Jess Gillam MBE (MEB) who will be performing as part of her UK tour.
