Who Will Support Oasis in 2027? The Biggest Rumours So Far

With an Oasis announcement now seemingly imminent, attention is already turning to one major question: who will support Liam and Noel Gallagher in 2027?

Nothing has been officially announced regarding support acts yet. In fact, as of September 13, Oasis haven’t formally announced the 2027 tour itself, although a drone display over Manchester carrying the date 14.09.26 and a string of cryptic teasers have made tomorrow look increasingly significant. Noel Gallagher has also heavily hinted that the band will be doing “something in the summer” next year.

Courteeners look like the early favourites

If there is one name worth watching, it’s Courteeners. Frontman Liam Fray was directly asked about the prospect of supporting Oasis in 2027 earlier this summer and said the band would “answer the call” if asked. Courteeners were already heavily linked with the original reunion dates before Richard Ashcroft and Cast eventually got the job. A Manchester homecoming with Oasis and Courteeners on the same bill, particularly if the reported Etihad Stadium residency happens, almost feels suspiciously obvious.

Could Richard Ashcroft return?

It would hardly be a surprise. Richard Ashcroft was special guest across all 19 UK and Ireland dates on the Live ’25 tour, continuing a relationship with Oasis stretching back to the early 1990s. Oasis originally supported The Verve before becoming famous themselves, while Noel later dedicated Cast No Shadow to Ashcroft. There has been no confirmation that Ashcroft will return in 2027, but after the reception his stadium sets received in 2025, he remains one of the most obvious possibilities.

And frankly, sending tens of thousands of people into Oasis immediately after Bitter Sweet Symphony worked rather well the first time.

Cast appear less certain

Cast joined Ashcroft throughout the 2025 UK and Ireland tour, but John Power’s recent comments suggest they haven't simply been booked again. Asked about possible Oasis shows in 2027, Power said there were “a lot of rumours” and joked that he hoped he would at least get on the guest list. That hardly sounds like someone secretly preparing another giant Oasis support run, although plans could obviously change.

What about Blossoms or Kasabian?

Both are believable outside bets rather than genuine confirmed rumours at this stage. Blossoms were among the bands linked with the original reunion tour, while Kasabian have plenty of history with the Gallaghers and previously supported Oasis during their final tour in 2009. Both would comfortably handle a stadium crowd.

Other names being thrown around by fans include The Charlatans, Johnny Marr, Wolf Alice, Wunderhorse and Primal Scream, although there is currently little solid evidence connecting any of them to the 2027 dates.

Right now, Courteeners feel like the name to watch. Oasis used different support acts in different parts of the world during Live ’25, with Ashcroft and Cast taking the UK and Ireland dates and Cage The Elephant joining them in North America. There is every reason to expect a similar approach in 2027.

If the heavily rumoured Manchester, Knebworth, Glasgow and European dates become official, a refreshed UK bill featuring Courteeners alongside either Richard Ashcroft or another major British act would make plenty of sense.

For now, though, the support slots remain open. Judging by everything Oasis have been teasing lately, we may not have to wait much longer to find out.
