    Editorial & Paid Coverage Disclosure

    Last updated: 18 May 2026

    1. Our editorial position

BritRockHeaven ("BRH") is an independent UK publication covering modern British rock culture. We champion emerging artists, but our editorial opinion — reviews, ratings, features and live coverage — is independent and is not for sale. This page explains the difference between our editorial work and the paid services we offer.

Where required, we follow guidance from the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the CAP Code on the clear labelling of advertising and paid promotion.

    2. Independent editorial

    • Article angle, length, tone and rating are decided by the editor, not the artist or label.
    • We do not accept payment to publish a positive review or to remove a negative one.
    • Contributors are briefed to write honestly. Pitches are accepted on merit, not on promotional value.
    • We may quote from press releases or interviews; the surrounding analysis is our own.

    3. Paid track submissions

Artists can submit a track to BRH for free. We also offer a single paid option:

    • £5 / priority submission — your track is moved to the front of the review queue and is guaranteed a listen and a written response from the editorial team.

The £5 fee pays for prioritised consideration, not for publication or for a positive review. Whether a track is written about, and the length, angle and tone of any coverage, remains an independent editorial decision. Priority submissions that are written about appear in the same format as our unpaid coverage.

    4. Media packages (paid editorial coverage)

Our media packages (currently £10, £30 and £90) pay for guaranteed editorial coverage — a written feature, review, interview or "Now Playing" placement produced by the BRH editorial team. What they do not buy is endorsement.

    • Coverage delivered as part of a media package is written in our normal editorial voice. It is not promotional copy, advertorial or an endorsement, and it does not contain marketing messaging supplied or approved by the artist.
    • The artist pays for guaranteed time, attention and a published piece — not for a positive review, a specific angle, or sign-off rights over the finished text.
    • We apply the same standards of factual accuracy and honesty as to unpaid coverage, and will not publish claims we believe to be false or misleading.
    • Because these pieces are paid for by the artist, we disclose that relationship transparently — for example with a note such as "Published as part of a BRH media package" — so readers can see the commercial context, in line with ASA / CAP Code expectations.
    • Paid coverage is excluded from "best of" lists, awards and competitive rankings unless it would have qualified on merit alone.

    5. Display advertising

Articles may show display advertising delivered by Google AdSense and similar networks. We do not control the specific ads shown to you. Advertisers cannot influence editorial decisions, and ad units are visually separated from editorial content. See our Cookie Policy for how advertising consent is handled in the UK and EEA.

    6. Affiliate links & gifts

We do not currently run a structured affiliate programme. If we link to a product or ticket page from which BRH may earn a small commission, that link will be marked accordingly. Promotional copies of albums, gig tickets or merchandise sent for review do not entitle the sender to favourable coverage.

    7. Corrections & complaints

We aim to be accurate. If you spot a factual error, or believe a piece breaches this policy or the CAP Code, email contact@britrockheaven.com. We will review, respond, and correct or clarify where appropriate.

    8. Changes to this policy

We may update this disclosure from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
